CarbonTree aims to identify the enzymes and metabolic processes that limit wood formation in trees. By mapping how carbon is transported, processed and metabolised within wood, the project seeks to improve our understanding of carbon capture and biomass production in trees.
The project is funded through the Novo Nordisk Foundation Interdisciplinary Synergy Programme.
