WIFORCE is a strategic forest research programme at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Umeå University, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The programme aims to deepen our understanding of the processes that govern forest growth, survival and biodiversity, contributing to sustainable forestry, new management practices and climate-adapted trees.

At the Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC), WIFORCE supports research in forest biology and biotechnology, research infrastructure and doctoral training through the WIFORCE Research School.

Project duration: 2024–2030
