Working in Umeå - Agrisera
Speaker: Joanna Porankiewicz-Asplund, Agrisera
Joanna Porankiewicz-Asplund is working as a Technical Support Manager at Agrisera in Umeå. Her background is in Plant physiology. Before switching to the industry Johanna finished her Ph.D. at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland and continued her academic career as a Postdoc at UPSC. After her Postdoc Joanna joined Agrisera, an antibody-producing biotech company in Umeå. Joanna will share her career path from academia to industry and introduce us to Agrisera. You will have the opportunity to submit questions about Agrisera or Joanna's career path before the seminar (

Title: Unravelling biological mechanisms by looking at single molecules in real-time
Host: Åsa Strand
We have a new instrument at KBC and UPSC, the C-Trap. The C-Trap is a versatile and powerful tool that can be used as a single or dual optical tweezers system combined with 3-colour confocal imaging and a multi-channel microfluidics system. With its integration of optical tweezers and multi-colour fluorescence microscopy, the C-Trap allows for the measurement of both force and fluorescence, making it an ideal tool for investigating a wide range of biological processes.

On October 23-25 there will be a workshop here at UPSC for the instrument. The theoretical lecture at 9.00 on Wednesday October 23 will be open to everyone.
