Plant biotechnology is becoming increasingly important as a tool to solve some of the global problems with feed, fuel and ecosystem management in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. The Master of Science Programme in Plant and Forest Biotechnology offers the students a state-of-the-art competence and skills to understand and find solutions to these challenges.

The programme is organized by Umeå Plant Science Centre. The education is anchored around the research topics where UPSC researchers are world leading, such as plant developmental biology, forest biotechnology, wood formation and hormone biology. Within the programme, you can choose orientation that is either generally related to biotechnology of all plant systems or specifically related to forest biotechnology.
