The schedule:

Introduction to Molecular Biology

Year 1
Plant cell and molecular biology Plant growth and development
Plant biotechnology and molecular breeding Biology and biotechnology in forest production systems
Year 2 Computational life science
Functional plant genomics Exam work

 

The programme is based upon coordinated courses which together amount to 80 credits (120 ECTS credits) spread over two years.
Up-to-date knowledge is provided about plant cell and molecular biology as well as plant growth and development. This is applied in the fields of plant breeding, biotechnology and functional genomics.
The programme is given in English.

The programme is intended to provide the students with:
Theoretical and practical knowledge about plant physiology, molecular biology, biotechnology and functional genomics.
Understanding about ethical, ecological and legal aspects of plant biotechnology.
Contacts to agricultural and forestry biotechnology companies.
Knowledge how to design, perform and report scientific experiments.
Preparation for graduate studies.
